The Weld County Sheriff's Office released an artist rendering of a man who is suspected of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in late April
The girl was in the parking lot of La Maravilla bar in Fort Lupton at about 1 a.m. April 26 to meet a friend, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
The suspect reportedly forced her into a vehicle, drove her to an unknown location, where he displayed a knife and sexually assaulted the girl before taking her back to the bar parking lot.
In a release today, the sheriff's office said the suspect is believed to have "A L E X" tattooed on his left hand. According to the sheriff's office, he also has been described as Latino. He was wearing jeans and a sweater on the night of the incident.
The sheriff's office is investigating the case. The suspect, the release stated, may have been driving a black or dark colored four-door sport utility vehicle, possibly a Ford Expedition.
