Finally, a dry and warm forecast that will last a few days. A rather large ridge of high pressure is building in from the west, bringing a nice break from the chilly and rainy weather we've had lately. This type of weather pattern will block any storms from moving into northern Colorado and allow warmer and drier air to build in from the southwest.
As a result, today's high temperature will climb to 80 degrees in Weld County, nearly 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. The warming trend continues with highs in the mid 80s on Sunday with near-record heat by the beginning of next week. At this point, it looks like the ridge will break down by the middle of next week and allow for afternoon thunderstorms and cooler temperatures. Until then, this will be a great opportunity to spend time outdoors enjoying the green landscape of spring.
