Stampede Foundation announces scholarship winners

The Greeley Stampede Foundation has awarded 25 scholarships to Weld and Larimer county high school graduates this spring.

The students were awarded $7,500 this year in the Stampede Scholarships, which have given out a total of $154,600 since the program’s inception.

The 2008 recipients are: Genevieve Schutzius, Fossil Ridge; Natalie Blanchard, Fort Collins High; Rebecca Matlock, Fort Collins High; Andrea Fasen, Loveland High; Corey Foxworth, Loveland High; Ruslan Garrey, Loveland High; Brianne Beemer, Mountain View; Ben Yohe, Thompson Valley; Molly Cook, Berthoud; Kimberly Fast, Berthoud; Corinne Feehan, Berthoud; Jessica Pelz, Eaton; Charles Laufert, Eaton; Kimberly Sterkel, Erie; Elizabeth Overturf, Greeley Central; Joseph Sinnwell, Greeley Central; Kathryn Gerwig, Greeley West; Jeremy Schiestel, Greeley West; Brittany Fosher, Northridge; Joseph Spaur, Roosevelt; Zachary Bond, University; Ben Buhler, University; Kaitlin Calhoun, University; Tim Garza, Valley High; Katheryn Ernst, Windsor.

Starting this fall, the Stampede Foundation will begin awarding classroom instructional grants to Weld and Larimer county elementary teachers. Teachers will be asked to apply for these grants to help fund classroom instructional projects.
