William "Bill" St. Clair, 78, of Fort Collins died May 8 at Poudre Valley Hospital.
William H. St. Clair Jr. was born Aug. 13, 1929, in Northwood, Iowa, to William and Marie St. Clair. He graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in industrial economics in 1951. Following graduation, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1951 until 1954 in counter intelligence.
On Oct. 28, 1968, Bill married Lorraine in Fanwood, N.J. Bill was the senior buyer of women's apparel for Sears from 1954 for 15 years in Chicago, 10 years in New York City and then another 10 years in Chicago. He lived formerly in Winfield, Ill., and retired to Fort Collins in 1995 where he became active with the Kiwanis and the Food Bank for Larimer County.
Hobbies include nature photography, gardening, athletic club activities, Colorado travel, attending Elder Hostel and playing bridge.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; children, Steve, Sue, Linda, Bob, Jim and Pattie; eight grandchildren, Kim, Katie, David, Daniel, Kris, Zach, Emily and Hannah and nine great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held later this summer.
