Russell L. “Russ” Brown

Russell L. “Russ” Brown, 71, of Fort Collins passed away on May 3. Russ was born on May 11, 1936 in Mason City, Neb. to Russell P. and Evelyn (Scully) Brown. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. On June 6, 1959, Russ married Joann Schlothauer in Gering, Neb. Russ had lived in Fort Collins since 1965.

He worked for Bartran Homes and Company for 33 years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Hope Community Church. Russ’s first priority was his family. He enjoyed bowling, traveling, sports and fishing.

Russ was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Joann; his mother Evelyn of Burlington; sons Dana and wife Paydra Brown of Tampa, Fla. and Derek Brown of Sunnyvale, Calif.; daughter LeeAnn and husband Jim Badum of Houston, Texas; sisters Donna Payne of Cody, Wyo., Bonnie Prince of Lebanon, Ore, and Betty Meier of Burlington; special friend, Bill Bartran who was like a brother to Russ and his five grandchildren.

Services were held previously.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County or Hope Community Church in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Rd, Ft. Collins, CO. 80526
